Movement in Kindergarten

Movement is an important part of an early year’s classroom.  Movement engages the brain in the learning process and movement helps the brain to work at it’s best.

Whole Class Movement Activities

  • Find an example of (colour, shape…) – in this activity, I prompt the students to walk around the room finding an object that meets the criteria, for example, find something that is the colour blue….
  • Movement Songs such as: If Your Happy and You Know It, Shake my Sillies, Head and Shoulders …
  • Body Poetry Animal Action Cards
