This week I added some I Spy books to our classroom. I introduced the books when we were hosting our Grade 4 learning buddies. The older children introduced and demonstrated the process of using the search and find books to my kindergarten students. After this buddy reading experience, my young learners were able to explore the books on their own.

Benefits of I Spy Books
The benefits of using I Spy books are many:
- Problem solving
- Vocabulary Development
- Working Memory
- Persistence
One of the reasons I particularly like I spy books is for teaching children about visual discrimination. The ability to recognize visual details in a picture supports children to later discriminate between the shapes of different letters, especially b, d, p and q.
