Learning Through Play

I recently viewed an online presentation by María Mercedes Champion titled Playing and Learning Together! Her presentation focused on learning through play. I appreciated her passion and commitment to ensuring that we as educators, parents and caregivers remember that play is essential for the children in our lives.

She shared the following:

Work and play together

Respect the rights of others

Listen as well as speak

grow from dependence to independence

Grow in self-control

Finish what we start

Improve muscular coordination

understand new words and be able to use them

be happy!

It looks like play but we are learning!
